Engineering Service

To support the development of the Shire through the planning, provision and maintenance of infrastructure for transportation, public safety and public amenity.

Engineering Services has six (6) operational sections that manage the requirements of Works, Design, Support, Systems, Workshop and Stores. Together, these sections undertake the following key activities:

  • Road CrossingRoads and Bridges
  • Parking Areas, Pathways & Open Space
  • Aerodromes
  • Emergency Services
  • Urban Stormwater
  • Weight of Loads
  • Noxious Weeds
  • Cemeteries
  • Stores, Workshop and Depots
  • Design & Traffic Facility Services
  • Gravel Pits
  • Contract and Private Works

Future Direction

  • Manage, conserve and enhance the Shire's assets and services through strategic planning and operational initiatives
        in a cost effective manner to meet community needs and expectations.
  • To improve on the level of customer service to the community.
  • To provide a safe environment for staff and the community.
  • The development of an integrated engineering operation that services Council's current and future requirements for
        engineering services.
  • Development of systems and methods of work that are sensitive to environmental, cultural and heritage issues.
