To ensure environmental health and systems are maintained through monitoring and assessment. To ensure that effective development (support and regulations) services are provided.

BuildingBuilding Services

The Building and Development section offers a comprehensive range of advisory services to facilitate the requirements of the development and building industry.

These include :

  • General building enquiry services;
  • Pre-lodgement advisory services, such as focus and site meetings;
  • Inspectorial services;
  • During construction advisory services; and
  • On-going compliance advice and regulation.

Environmental Services

The Environmental section is responsible for ensuring that the health and amenity of both the man made and natural environments are maintained to a standard that meets legislative requirements and satisfies the community's expectations. Some of the operational areas include:

  • Advisory services;
  • Inspectorial services;
  • Monitoring and sampling of discharges to the environment;
  • Erosion and sediment control measures; and
  • Monitoring and sampling of water bodies.

CreakPublic Health Services

The Public Health section is responsible for ensuring the maintenance of high public health standards throughout the community. Some services provided to achieve high public heath standards include:

  • Advisory and inspectorial services;
  • Potable and domestic water supply monitoring;
  • Food hygiene advice and regulation;
  • Waste disposal advice and regulation; and
  • Communicable disease monitoring and advisory services.

 

Future Direction

  • To provide ongoing support/resources to the development industry to facilitate Community development toward
    becoming a regional centre.
  • To provide ongoing support/resources and appropriate regulation to ensure a safe and pleasant environment is
    monitored for the community.
  • To provide ongoing support/resources to ensure acceptable levels of public health and amenity are maintained
    throughout the community.
