To act as a single unit with a shared vision to provide effective and efficient corporate services, necessary to support the function of Council. To provide accredited quality services of children’s day-care and quality spa and swimming recreation.
Corporate Services provides effective and efficient support to Council, the operational areas of Council and the community. The key activities of the Department are:
• Finance;
• Information Services (IS);
• Human Resources;
• OH & S and Risk Management;
• Moree Gwydir Day-care and Preschool; and
• Moree Hot Mineral Baths.
Future Direction
Image• To review corporate activities to ensure an improved delivery to all stakeholders
• To bring about more effective coordination of administrative functions and eliminate duplications wherever possible
• To improve access to information and communication systems throughout Council
• To enhance the financial position and reporting to all stakeholders and adopt/upgrade both the Council’s financial and HR technical systems by July 2006.
• To improve application of Human Resources programs to all council staff
• To reduce Council exposure to work related injury and public risk.
• To contribute to the communities early childhood daycare requirements with quality care.
• To improve tourist and community use of the Moree Hot Mineral Spa Baths and develop a strategy to upgrade/redevelop the Spa Pool complex by June 2006.
