drumMUSTER is the National program that has been set up for the collection and recycling of empty, cleaned, non returnable crop production and on-farm animal health chemical containers.
The national drumMUSTER is the single biggest environmental program ever undertaken jointly by farmers/end chemical users, Local Government and the Crop Production and Animal Health Industries.
Before drumMUSTER began, used chemical containers were untidy eyesores on farms and created mountains of unnecessary rubbish at council landfill sites.
Recently, the twelve millionth drum was collected from over 700 sites represent. This represented over 16,500 tonne of high quality plastic and metal saved from rubbish heaps which equates to the weight of sixty A380 Airbuses.
The program creates a safe, cost effective solution to the disposal problem of empty containers, and increases the production of a valuable recyclable commodity.
