Schedule of events for 2009
The Moree Plains Shire is gearing up for our inaugural Healing Waters Festival which will celebrate our diverse and dynamic lifestyle and you’re invited!
The Festival has been created to bring together new and existing events, the emphasis being to build an identity for our region and stage yet another signature event alongside the successful Moree on a Plate; held in May.
The Healing Waters Festival is a community collaboration bringing together the Moree Lions Golden Grain/ Cotton Festival, Yanay to Gamiliraay (Y2G) Aboriginal Festival, Multicultural celebrations and the finale… the Mungindi Music Festival; each a unique event in their own right.
Social groups are encouraged to go creative and stage a special day and all sporting clubs have a great opportunity to hold a Healing Waters Festival Shield, meet, race, open day or championship of some description in lead with the festival that will hopefully grow club membership and community spirit.
An initial flyer will be released that will talk about the festival and list many of the clubs in Moree,
with a more comprehensive list including surrounding towns accessible on this website; in time to come. Copies of the flyer will also be available from Tourism Moree.
There will be something on everyday for everybody so become involved!
