Moree Plains Shire Council Waste Clean up Day

Moree Shire Council is providing a Bulky Waste Clean Up.  This will allow for the collection of larger items that cannot be serviced with Mobile Garbage Bins.

All residences currently receiving a weekly waste collection service.

Zone 1—Moree and Surrounds, Gurley,  Gwydirville & Bendygleet
Collections will commence for residents on (to be advertised) and
will take approximately one week, so please put your Bulky
Waste out the weekend before.

Zone 2—Ashley, Biniguy, Boggabilla, Boomi, Garah, Mungindi,
Pallamallawa, Weemelah & Yarraman Collections will commence for residents on (to be advertised) and  will take approximately
one week, so please put your Bulky Waste out the weekend before.

Please place your Bulky Waste neatly next to the edge of the kerb
and not blocking the footpath at your normal weekly collection point.
Please secure items to avoid  
windblown littering.

The volume of Bulky Waste collected from any one property
shall not exceed two cubic metres. Items must be
able to be handled by two men and not exceed 60kg.

Bulky Waste includes larger items of   household waste.
Acceptable items are:

  • Whitegoods (all doors must be removed).
  • Furniture & mattresses.
  • Metal car parts, tools, tins and scrap metal.
  • Other bulky household items.
  • Items must be able to be handled by two men.
  • Loose items will not be accepted.
  • Green waste—tied or boxed only (loose green waste will not be collected)

These materials will NOT be collected:

  • Bricks, demolition and excavation 
    materials including dirt and stones
  • Motor vehicle bodies, tyres
  • Dead animals, food waste
  • Commercial or hazardous waste
  • Household garbage or broken glass
  • Vessels or containers holding any liquids
  • Batteries of any kind

The contractor & Council have the right to reject any
material that they consider unacceptable

NOTE: Collections may occur at any time during
this period so please wait to contact the contractor until after Friday if you feel your  waste has been missed.
