LONG TERM FINANCIAL PLAN

The Community Strategic Plan provides a vehicle for expressing long-term community aspirations. However, these will not be achieved without sufficient resources – time, money, assets and people – to actually carry them out. In line with Integrated Planning and Reporting reforms, the Council has developed a Long Term Financial Plan 2010/2011–2019/2020.
Long Term Financial Plan 2010/2011–2019/2020
The Long Term Financial Plan (LTFP) 2010/2011–2019/2020 presents the financial objectives and performance targets and strategies that the Council is proposing to meet the significant financial challenges facing it over the period 2010/2011-2019/2020.
The LTFP is a decision-making and problem-solving tool. It is not intended that the LTFP is set in concrete – it is a guide for future action. The modelling that occurs as part of the plan will help Council to weather unexpected events. It will also provide an opportunity for Council to identify financial issues at an earlier stage and gauge the effect of these issues in the longer term.
