Financially Assisting Our Community

At last week’s Council meeting, Councillors considered the applications for financial assistance made by community groups for the October – December 2017 financial quarter.

For this quarter, $10,000 was available for distribution amongst applicants.

The following applications were approved:




 Kelly Chapman   Hosting the Aussie Quick Quilt workshop in Mungindi  $1500
 #jump4em  Committee Charity camp draft and auction (date to be confirmed)  $1500
 Barwon Health Alliance Limited  Sponsorship of the 2018 Dr William Hunter Scholarship  $3000
 Moree Plains Communities  Servicing and maintaining community defibrillators and establishing a register   $4000

The next round is now open. Applicants must complete and submit a Public Donations Application Form no later than 22 December 2017 for Public Donations for the period from January to March 2018. In accordance with Council’s Public Donations Policy, applications received after the deadline will not be considered until Council’s first meeting in the next calendar quarter.

Applications will be presented to the Council at its meeting on 19 January 2018.
