Rain Halts Official Opening of Moree Water Park

The black soils around the Moree Plains have swelled with the recent rain and with more rain predicted later this week, Moree Plains Shire Council in consultation with the Moree Water Ski Club, has postponed the official opening of the Moree Water Park.

Mayor Cr Katrina Humphries, while thrilled with the recent rain is disappointed that the event has had to be postponed.

“We made the decision to postpone the event as the ground is heavy underfoot and with the added rain at the end of this week means parking and walking around the site is going to be a real issue.”

“As we say out here…we stick to the black soil in the dry and it will stick to everything else in the wet!”

The opening will now be held on Saturday, 24 September 2016 and will coincide with round one of the WaterskiQLD Southern Regional Tournament Series.
