No Charge on Domestic Waste – Free Disposal
Residents in Moree will now be able to dispose of domestic waste free of charge at the Moree Waste Management Facility.
Council’s Water and Waste Manager David Wolfenden explained that people illegally dump rubbish because they think waste disposal at the landfill is too expensive but there is no excuse now – household rubbish is free to dispose of!
"A lot of people think the costs are higher than they are; but now it is free to bring rubbish to the Moree Waste Management Facility.”
“We want people to use the Waste Facility because dumping rubbish impacts on our local communities, the environment and it is costly to clean up.”
“So much of our waste can actually be recycled or composted,” said Mr Wolfenden.
Free of charge – unlimited amounts of household waste, green waste, recycling (cardboard, glass, cans and bottles), lounges, white goods, furniture and e-Waste.
Expect a fee – commercial green and regular waste, trade waste, construction and demolition waste and hazardous materials.
There is also the August kerbside bulky waste clean-up, which residents can utilise.
Householders must contact the Waste Hotline on 1300 736 719 by the end of July if they want to use the bulky waste service. No booking, no pick up.
