Signage Helps With Traffic Flow Along Amaroo Drive
Moree Plains Shire Council has addressed safety concerns with a new Give Way sign at the intersection of Amaroo Drive, Moree and the newly created unnamed road which formed part of the construction of the Moree Bypass.
Director of Engineering Services Ian Dinham explained the signage provides clear directions to motorists and improves the safety of this intersection.
“Before the signage was erected, there have been a number of near misses as drivers were confused on who gave way to whom; so the potential for a serious accident was high”.
“We have installed two Give Way signs at the Amaroo Drive intersection and associated line-marking to assist in solving driver confusion,” said Mr Dinham.
Drivers failing to obey the Give Way signage can be fined up to $319 and lose three demerit points.
