Moree Portrait Prize
BAMM: Bank Art Museum Moree has opened its premier art competition The Moree Portrait Prize and is calling for artists of all ages living and working across Australia to enter.
The Moree Portrait Prize offers cash prizes across six categories: Under 12s, Under 18s, Adults, People’s Choice and Best in Show.
Gallery Director Vivien Clyne says the exhibition continues a long tradition of art prizes at BAMM and provides artists with a fantastic opportunity to develop their skills and display their work in a professional art museum.
“The portraits can depict anyone – celebrities, family members, friends or even the artists themselves – it’s great to see a range of faces represented in the Prize.”
“The Prize is open to all media and I look forward to seeing a range of portraits created in sculpture and collage, works on canvas and paper or though photography,” said Ms Clyne.
Artists should contact BAMM for an entry form and submit works before 9 November 2018.
The Moree Portrait Prize launches at 6pm 23 November 2018 and will run through to 24 December 2018.
Moree Plains Shire Council has contributed $500 through its Public Donations financial assistance program to the Moree Cultural Art Foundation to help host The Moree Portrait Prize.
