Tree damage Moree ShireFollowing the wild weather over the past few days, bear in mind, trees around the Shire (including on private property) may have been weakened and become unstable and can pose a risk to community members. Trees and branches may have been hit by lightning or affected by very strong winds during big storms. As Council and property owners assess the damage caused by recent storm activity, please be mindful of the risk of trees and branches falling.

Alleged or Suspected Water Stealing

Theft of water and interference with Moree Plains Shire Council’s water infrastructure are serious offences which may attract substantial penalties, in accordance with the Local Government Act, 1993.

If you know of or think you know of anyone stealing water, either through water meter bypass or use of an unmetered standpipe, contact the Council’s General Manager with your suspicions – as stealing water costs all ratepayers.

Your report will be treated in confidence.
