  • Consider safety around backyard swimming pools

For many of us, the summer holiday period heralds a time of running in sprinklers, visiting the local pool, trips over to the coast for a beachside escape or if you’re lucky, plenty of fun in the backyard pool.

These days, the iconic backyard pool takes many shapes and forms with portable swimming pools and inflatables more accessible and popular than ever.

Despite concerted efforts by the Mungindi community to reduce water consumption and water infrastructure upgrades being completed in December 2019, the continuing dry conditions have prompted Moree Plains Shire Council to increase water restrictions to Level Five in Mungindi, effective from Wednesday 8 January 2020.
