  • Roll out of Smart Water Meters

    Starting June 2020

    Moree Plains residents will soon have greater control over their water consumption with the installation of new smart water meter readers, scheduled to be rolled out to residences across the Plains over coming months.

    Moree Plains Shire Council’s Acting Director of Engineering Alan Lawrance, welcomes the installation of the smart water meter readers explaining how they work and the benefits they will provide to the community.

    Land Use Plan for the future of the Plains

    Residents across the Moree Plains have had their say and helped Moree Plains Shire Council develop a statement that sets out the community’s land use aspirations for the next 20 years.

    The Moree Plains Shire Local Strategic Planning Statement, which identifies clear planning, land use issues and opportunities in the Shire for the next 20 years, is now on public exhibition.

  • Water Main Renewal Program Well Underway

Moree Plains Shire Council is committed to ensuring that our water and sewerage services support the liveability of our communities. This commitment was tested during the unprecedented drought and Council’s forward planning in these areas was rewarded. 

  • Olympic Pool to Get Permanent Fix

    In late 2017, Council commenced proceedings in the Supreme Court of NSW as a result of the construction of the 50m Olympic Pool at the Moree Artesian Aquatic Centre (MAAC). Those proceedings were ultimately settled shortly before trial. Council is now able to commence works to replace the Olympic Pool.
