14 December - Christmas at Twilight - Ron Harborne Oval 5pm - 9pm

5pm Christmas at Twilight

Petting Zoo, Laser Tag, rides, recreational activities, food and beverage stalls.
In the event of wet weather, a cancellation notice will be posted on Council’s
Facebook page and local radio stations.

7.30pm Open-Air Carols Concert

Be sure to bring your chairs and blankets but leave the beers at home as
this is a family event that is drug and alcohol free.

9pm Fireworks

The public are asked to make sure pets are secured due to the noise of the
fireworks. No persons are permitted into the setup area during the discharge
of the fireworks. Please bring torches to guide you safely off the oval.

Community Financial Assistance

Applications close 21 December 2018
Does your club need financial assistance? Each quarter, Moree Plains Shire Council calls for applications from individuals and community, sporting and educational groups wishing to apply for financial assistance for local events, functions and sponsorship. Applications for the period from January – March 2019 are due by 5pm 21 December 2018 and will be presented to the Council at its meeting on 24 January 2019.

Copies of the Public Donations Policy and Application Form are available at the Moree Community Library and Council offices at Moree, Boggabilla and Mungindi, by phoning the Executive Office on (02) 6757 3237 or via email This email address is being protected from spambots. MONDAYS
Knit & Natter – Fortnightly during the year at 2.00pm – 3.00pm (excludes public holidays)
A relaxed and informal get together for knitting and crocheting enthusiasts. Drop in, no bookings required. BYO knitting needles and crochet hooks, wool provided.

TUESDAYS
Storytime – Weekly during school term at 10.00am – 10.30am

Storytime at the Library for pre-schoolers and their carers. Enjoy stories and craft activities.

Big Sky’s Little Readers – Weekly during the school term at 3.30pm – 4.30pm, recommencing 16 October
Aimed at children in Kindergarten to Grade 2, this book club meets weekly during the school term to read stories from the Library’s junior collections and make craft. Members also get to preview new books and have first opportunity to borrow them! (Operates during school term, new members welcome but must book in with Library staff).

WEDNESDAYS
Code Club – Fortnightly during the school term at 3.30pm – 4.30pm, recommencing 17 October
Computer coding sessions for kids aged 8+. Create games and animations while learning the basics of computer coding. Bookings essential.

Book Blasters – Fortnightly during the school term at 3.30pm – 4.30pm, recommencing 24 October
Activities for young people in Years 3-6 - Don’t fancy books? – blast that attitude and be delightfully surprised by the fun and games. (Operates during school term, new members welcome but must book in with Library staff).

THURSDAYS
Baby Bounce – Weekly during the school term at 10.00am
Baby Bounce is an interactive session which includes finger play, songs and lap rhymes for babies up to 2 years, parents and carers.

Robotics Club – Fortnightly during the school term at 3.30 – 4.30pm, recommencing 18 October 
Fun filled term of Robotics for children aged 8+! Learn the skills to program robots using various coding languages. Bookings essential.

FRIDAYS
Lego Club Group 1 – Fortnightly during the school term at 3.30 – 4.30pm, recommencing 19 October

Come in and join us for some LEGO fun! Build EPIC creations and make new friends along the way! Bookings essential. For children aged 7-12.

Lego Club Group 2 – Fortnightly during the school term at 3.30 – 4.30pm, recommencing 26 October (depending on numbers)

Needing a Public Donation by Council?

Individuals and community, sporting and educational groups wishing to apply for financial assistance from Moree Plains Shire Council for events, functions and sponsorship during the months required below are to complete and submit a Public Donations Application Form to enable the application to be considered.

In accordance with its Public Donations Policy, applications received after this deadline will not be considered until Council’s first meeting next calendar quarter (i.e. in three months’ time).

Any queries in relation to applications for financial assistance should be directed to the Grants Officer (02) 6757 3222.
