Local Businesses And Workers To Share In $693 Million Inland Rail Project

With construction works to kick off shortly on the first part of the Inland Rail in the Moree Plains Shire, now is the time for local suppliers and job seekers to step up and secure a slice of the works on offer to locals.
ARTC awarded the $693 million construction contract for Phase 1 of the Narrabri to North Star section of the Inland Rail to Trans4m Rail, and Trans4M Rail is now looking to appoint local sub-contractors and workers for certain parts of the construction works.
Next week, ARTC and Trans4m Rail will be in Moree and are calling for interested local suppliers and job seekers to register now for the ’Meet the Contractors’ sessions being held next Tuesday 1 December 2020.
Moree Plains Shire Council Mayor, Cr Katrina Humphries, is urging locals to make the most of the economic boom that is about to hit the Moree Plains by businesses and job seekers doing what they can to put their best foot forward.
“The Moree region is filled with passionate suppliers and amazing talent providing a level of service second to none. Locals need to grab this opportunity with both hands - Inland Rail is a once in a life time opportunity. With the recent announcement of Trans4m Rail as the Tier 1 Contractor, it’s now crunch time to get involved,” said the Mayor.
ARTC and Trans4m Rail will be hosting three sessions for the day; local suppliers and job seekers should register their interest for one of the following:
Session 1: Subcontractors and Supply Chain
7.30am – 9.00am
Project overview, procurement and supply chain opportunities
Session 2: Employment Opportunities and Job Network Providers
10.30am – 12 noon
Project overview, employment opportunities and process, job network information
Session 3: Employment, Subcontractors and Supply Chain
5.30pm – 7.00pm
