Council Services and Facilities for the King’s Birthday Public Holiday

Council would like to inform the Moree Plains community of the following services and facilities’ operating hours for the King’s Birthday Long Weekend public holiday, Monday 9 June 2025.

Unless otherwise noted below, Council’s services and facilities, including the Moree Customer Service Centre, will operate as normal until 5:00pm Friday 6 June. Services and facilities will recommence as usual from Tuesday 10 June 2025.

Waste Services

Please be advised kerbside garbage, recycling and organics collections will be as normal.

Landfill operating hours:

Monday 9 June 2025 - Moree Landfill Opening Hours - Open: 9 am – 1 pm
Monday 9 June 2025 - Villages Landfill Opening Hours - Mungindi closed

Dhiiyaan Aboriginal Centre (DAC)

Friday 6 June – Closed
Monday 9 June – Closed

Moree Community Library

Friday 6 June – 10am-5pm
Saturday 7 June – 10am-12pm
Monday 9 June – Closed

Gwydir Daycare and Preschool

Ranger Services

The Water Filling Station (Maude Street, near Depot) will operate as normal.

Moree Regional Airport

Will operate as usual.
