Level Five Water Restrictions for Moree with effect Wednesday 12 February 2025

Due to last night’s power outage which has affected Council’s Yarraman bore field water, Council wishes to advise residents of Moree that Level 5 Water Restrictions need to be implemented effectively Tuesday 12 February 2025 until 5pm Friday 14 February 2025.

All residents and commercial users are requested to only use ESSENTIAL water.

Level 5 Restrictions

  • External Watering - banned
  • Washing of vehicles - banned
  • Washing down of paved surfaces - banned
  • Swimming pool filling - banned
  • Showers to be kept to less than 5 minutes
  • Only ESSENTIAL internal water

These water restrictions are a short-term restriction that will allow us to preserve water levels in our reservoir towers.

General Manager Natalia Cowley explained “we understand the inconvenience this causes, we ask residents to comply with this short-term restriction, allowing us to preserve our current water levels while we rely on two bores for the entire town water supply.”

Ms Cowley also confirmed that irrigation by alternate water sources will not be affected by these restrictions.

If residents of Moree have any questions about these restrictions, they are encouraged to contact Council’s (02) 6757 3222.
